Sisyphean Tasks
Pic related. Another logo I'd like as a tattoo. Word of the day, which for years has come to mind sometimes... Sisyphus. Whether work but especially weights, it all begins to feel like a Sisyphean task with me sometimes and leads to existential dilemmas about the redundancy of the world itself with all the sameness we encounter day-to-day and of my own possible redundancy in this world. Sisyphus, as you may know, was punished by Hades "for cheating death twice by forcing him to roll an immense boulder up a hill only for it to roll back down every time it neared the top, repeating this action for eternity." That'd strike an existential crisis in many people and of course from a relevant wikipedia quote, "In experiments that test how workers respond when the meaning of their task is diminished, the test condition is referred to as the Sisyphusian condition. The two main conclusions of the experiment are that people work harder when their work seems more meaningful,
